Abstract

User’s behaviours in accessing internet have particular pattern influenced by certain factors one of these factors is internet access tools. Internet browsers that provide multiple windows to access to many different Uniform Resource Locator (URLs) simultaneously can cause access speed become slower. Accessing internet in simultaneous time by many users can also reduce the access speed and traffic of data communication did not distribute equally across the time. Slower access speed makes user’s perception about  quality of service (QoS) for internet access will be negative. QoS for internet access management is usually weighted on expensive communication infrastructure. This management is also centralized and weighted on network administrator instead of involving users actively. It requires effort to involve users actively to improve quality of internet access services.

Actual parameter of data communication is obtained by monitoring data packet on gateway machine. User’s perception about quality of internet access services can be different. This user’s perception can be captured by pooling when user accessing the internet and   mapped into a knowledge base. User’s perception pattern and actual parameter of data communication can be processed into information. This information is expected to influenced the pattern  of user’s access.

The result of this research is AMQoSS software agent that presents information used as consideration of accessing internet in Local Area Network.
