APPLICATION OF BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE FOR DECISION SUPPORT IN THE MARKETING PROCESS ( CASE STUDY : ASC COMPUTER )

Abstract


Bussiness Intelligence application is developed to assisst the decision maker solving marketing and distribution related problem. Data for the application is taken from day to day operation.

BI process is started from data warehouse and continued with OLAP development and is continued with reporting services. Data warehouse development process is differ from that of OLTP database. In which, dimensional model is used, namely start schema.

The analysis process using OLAP has several characteristics, namely: operation summary, unification, formulation, and combination of several dimensions. OLAP provides information of a company performance through the view of huge and multidimensional data. The reporting services is the analysis in the form of reporting which describe the reporting system that meets company needs.

BI process in this study is making requirement analysis based on company's business process, data analysis, data warehouse design and implementation, ETL process, OLAP design and reporting services.

BI implementation will provide information to the management in regard with the product management. Assissting management in making a strategic marketing decision by the way of providing such necessary information as the products that consumer  purchased and consumer's profile for customer lifetime value.
